Cahill and Cole set to get the ball

Trevor Cahill and Taylor Cole are listed as the probable starters in this one. Cahill (4-2, 3.12 ERA) has won three consecutive starts and is unbeaten in eight straight after notching 10 strikeouts and scattering three hits over six scoreless innings against Detroit last Sunday. The 30-year-old has struggled on the road, however, posting a 6.44 ERA on the road compared to a 0.99 mark at home. In his career, Cahill is 5-3 with a 2.07 ERA in 10 starts and one relief appearance.

Cole (0-2, 1.59) will make his first major-league start after beginning his career with nine relief appearances. The 28-year-old has produced three straight scoreless outings, a stretch that includes a career-high 3 2/3 innings of work against Cleveland last Sunday. Cole has come out of the bullpen on 32 occasions for Triple-A Salt Lake this year, going 3-0 with six saves and a 5.16 ERA.

Will the A’s Go UNDER Once Again?

Oakland has been a red-hot UNDER team lately, as the A’s have gone below the total in seven straight games heading into this one. The UNDER is also 6-1 in the Angels’ past seven games. In the past seven meetings between the AL West clubs, the UNDER is 5-0-2. Based on those trends, expect the UNDER to get plenty of traction at sportsbooks for this tilt.
