MLB Strikeout Props April 23

MLB Pitcher Strikeout Props April 22nd: Crown The King

I've got two more MLB strikeout prop bets for Tuesday. So, let's get a few more winners this week.

With one over and one under, here are my two strikeout props for April 23rd:

Pick 1: Mike King OVER 5.5 Ks (-115)

Padres vs Rockies Matchup Preview - Game Time: 7:45 pm ET

In five starts this year, Michael King is averaging 5.8 strikeouts per contest. Last time out, in particular, he was basically untouchable. He carved a solid Brewers lineup for 7.2 innings of one-run ball, striking out 10 batters.

King has the pleasure today of matching up against one of the most strikeout-prone teams in baseball. The Rockies are currently third in MLB in team strikeouts with 228 in 23 games (9.9 per contest). They're just two strikeouts away from leading all of baseball in the category.

Pick 2: Steven Matz Under 4.5 Ks (-140)

Cardinals vs Diamondbacks Matchup Preview - Game Time: 9:45 pm ET

I really don't get this line. Matz hasn't surpassed four strikeouts in a start yet this year, averaging just three strikeouts per outing. He also matches up against a DBacks team that'll almost certainly give him fits. The Diamondbacks have struck out the third-fewest times in baseball so far this year and also crush lefties like Matz.

Arizona has a .833 team OPS against lefties so far this year, posting a .312 collective batting average and a league-leading nine homers vs LHP. It'll be a bad day to be Matz and a great day to take his strikeout under.
