Blue Jays vs White Sox SGP

MLB Same-Game Parlay May 22: White Sox vs Blue Jays (+409)

For today's MLB same-game parlay, I'm honing in on the White Sox vs Blue Jays series finale in Toronto. The White Sox are one of baseball's worst teams, but it's actually the Blue Jays who haven't won a series in over a month. Will Toronto get a series win tonight?

Here are my MLB same-game parlay legs for today's White Sox vs Blue Jays showdown on May 22nd:

White Sox vs Blue Jays Same-Game Parlay: May 22nd

The Game: White Sox vs Jays - 7:07 p.m. ET

BetOdds
White Sox +1.5-110
Under 8.5 runs-115
Gavin Sheets total hits over 0.5-215
Overall+409

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 1: White Sox Runline

This leg of the parlay is 50% vibes, 50% based in reality.

For starters, a win tonight would give the Jays a series win, and that's something they haven't won since April 21st. There's something about the 2024 Blue Jays that just prevents them from closing out series. Even against a terrible White Sox team, I don't think anything will change tonight.

As well, I think the runline is the way to go about this bet. The Jays have the second-worst offense in baseball, scoring just 173 runs so far this year. So, with little offensive upside, they haven't been able to blow many teams out. That's a great recipe for a runline bet. They White Sox may be 15-34 straight up this season, but they're much closer on the runline, sitting at 23-26.

Maybe the Jays sneak out with a win in this one, but I don't think it'll be by more than a run. Six of the Jays' last nine wins have come by two or fewer runs.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 2: Under 8.5 Runs

The trends are very much on our side here too. The White Sox have hit the under 56% of the time this season and have gone under 8.5 runs in five of their last seven games. The Jays are hitting the under at at a 59% clip and have gone under 8.5 in six of their last eight. Everything leads me to believe this game is going under.

Same-Game Parlay Pick No. 3: Sheets Over 0.5 Hits

Gavin Sheets can't hit lefties. He's hitting .105 against southpaws this year, with a disgustingly low OPS of .340. Lucky for Sheets, he's facing a righty in Chris Bassitt tonight. Sheets is much better against the strong side of the platoon, with a .270 season average and .830 OPS.

Sheets hasn't played Bassitt before, but he does enter this matchup particularly hot. Sheets has four hits in his last 10 at-bats.

Just because Sheets is going to have a big day, doesn't mean the White Sox are set to win, though. In games where Sheets has more than one hit, the White Sox are still just 2-5 — that's a bad team.
