Alek Manoah gets the start for the Blue Jays. He’s had an impressive first half of the season going 8-2 with an E.R.A. of 2.00. His most recent start was one of his two losses this season, albeit it was against the Yankees and he did not get any run support. This will be Manoah’s first career start vs the Brewers.

While they may be struggling to prevent runs, they certainly aren’t having any trouble producing them. They have scored 32 times in their last four games and you may be surprised to know that it’s their catcher, Alejandro Kirk leading the way. As mentioned, Rowdy Tellez will face the Toronto Blue Jays for the first time since being traded to Milwaukee just under a year ago. At 27 years old, the Brewers first baseman is finally getting the chance to be an everyday player and he is taking advantage of it. He is third on the team with 11 home runs and leads all Brewers with 41 RBI. 

The Brewers though are more dependent on their pitching than they are their offense. Minus a stretch in which they went 2-11 earlier this month, Milwaukee has one of the best team E.R.A.’s in all of baseball and are second in the majors, behind only the Braves, with 671 strikeouts.
