Chase Elliott is the favorite in the Toyota Save Mart 350 odds at Sonoma Raceway.

Toyota Save Mart 350 Odds: Elliott Heads into Race as the Favorite

After competing in the Coca-Cola 600, the longest race on the NASCAR Cup Series schedule, drivers now head to their third road course of the season: the Toyota Save Mart 350 at Sonoma Raceway.

Kyle Larson dominated last week’s race and is third on the oddsboard but with this being a road race, it should come as no surprise to see Chase Elliott as the favorite in the Toyota Save Mart 350 odds.

Online sportsbook [Sportsbook not available for your region] has released the Toyota Save Mart 350 odds for Sonoma Raceway with Elliott listed as the +225 favorite. He is followed by Martin Truex Jr. at +500, Kyle Larson at +600, Kyle Busch at +1000 and William Byron at +1200 to round out the top five drivers on the oddsboard.

Why is Elliott the Favorite in Toyota Save Mart 350 Odds at Sonoma Raceway?

Since securing his first career Cup Series win at Watkins Glen in 2018, Elliott has become the road course king over the last couple of years. Including that victory, the reigning Cup Series champion has won six of the last nine road courses, most recently at the Circuit of the Americas two weeks ago.

The only road course that Elliott hasn’t conquered yet is at Sonoma Raceway. His best finish at the track was a fourth in 2018, before he won his first Cup Series race.

Elliott’s Stats in 2021

Elliott grabbed the checkered flag at the Circuit of the Americas two weeks ago, though that is his only victory of the season thus far. He has been competitive, however, with the third-most top-five finishes on the circuit. He also has five straight top-10 finishes, including three consecutive podium finishes heading into this race.

NASCAR Predictions this week for the Toyota Save Mart 350: Sonoma Raceway

Hendrick Motorsports has been on an absolute tear recently, winning three straight races, and will be starting in positions 1, 2 and 3 when the green flag flies. Fading this team will be a difficult task at Sonoma Raceway, especially with the road course king, Elliott, on the squad. Here are my three NASCAR predictions for this week.

Chase Elliott +225: While I’m not a huge fan of betting on a driver to win at such a low number, Elliott on road courses is simply an autobet and that’s why he’s such a favorite. Combining his past success with the fact that he’s starting on the outside of row 1 makes this a must-play.

Martin Truex Jr. +500: It’s hard not to place a bet on Truex for Sonoma Raceway given that he has won the last two races at this track and has three wins over his 14 career starts overall. He leads the series with three wins this season and is the co-favorite in NASCAR Cup championship odds. He’ll have some work to do starting in 19th position but ultimately, look for No. 19 to be toward the front near the end of the race.

Joey Logano +1400: Now, this may be a bit of a surprise as he has never won at Sonoma and has just one road course victory over 28 career starts at that style of track. However, on the previous two road tracks this season, he has two podium finishes, a second and a third. I like his chances to be competitive once again this weekend and I like the value at 14:1.
