NBA Daily Fantasy Picks For Feb. 2: VanVleet To Show Out Against Former Team

NBA daily fantasy perfectly blends the worlds of fantasy sports and sports betting into one fun and exhilarating contest that can lead to big gains for those who partake.

The DFS lineup will incorporate a standard starting lineup of a PG, SG, SF, PF, and C, along with an additional G, F, and UTIL slot at a salary of $50,000 which cannot be exceeded. Points are allocated based on the statistical production from each individual player that night.

Here's a look at our lineup for the NBA's slate of games on Friday, February 2, 2024:

  2. SG: Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings

    $5,100

  7. F: Santi Aldama, Memphis Grizzlies

  8. UTIL: Vince Williams Jr, Memphis Grizzlies

    $6,400

PG: Fred VanVleet, Houston Rockets

Fred VanVleet has likely had this game against the Toronto Raptors circled on his calendar for quite some time. If recent showings by Kevin Durant against the Brooklyn Nets and Damian Lillard versus the Portland Trail Blazers are any indicator, players want to put up big numbers when battling teams they used to play for.

SG: Kevin Huerter, Sacramento Kings

Kevin Huerter has played at least 37 minutes in three of his last six games, and at least 30 minutes in two of the other three. As long as he continues to have the hot hand shooting the rock, which he's had connecting on an average of 3.6 3-pointers over his last eight appearances, then there won't be any reason to steer away from him as a fantasy pick.

SF: Jordan Nwora, Toronto Raptors

Seemingly just a throw-in for the trade which landed Pascal Siakam with the Indiana Pacers, Nwora has taken advantage of the opportunity to see the floor more in Toronto and excelled. He's averaging 35.3 fantasy points over his last two games, and even if the Raptors get some bodies back soon in the form of RJ Barrett, Immanuel Quickley, and Jakob Poeltl, Nwora has earned a steady dose of minutes on that roster no matter the circumstances.

PF: Kyle Kuzma, Washington Wizards

There's been a slight drop-off in production for Kyle Kuzma from the earlier months of the campaign, yet the Washington Wizards rely so heavily on him for offense that even a subpar night by his standards is still strong enough to make him a fantasy pick. Kuzma has scored at least 26 points in three of his last four games and finished with 39 or more fantasy points in three of his last five.

C: Victor Wembanyama, San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs' rookie phenom is money for at least 49 fantasy points per game these days, which he hasn't fallen below since Jan. 17. He's a one-man show most nights, which daily fantasy players are more than grateful for. Simply ride the wave as long as you can.

G: Cam Whitmore, Houston Rockets

Cam Whitmore doesn't need a ton of playing time to produce quality lines, evident by the Houston Rockets rookie contributing between 17 to 24 points in three of his last four games while not exceeding 20 minutes of action. The recent return of Jabari Smith Jr. could keep those minutes hovering around 20 or so per night, so Whitmore will need to continue this tear to maintain fantasy relevancy.

F: Santi Aldama, Memphis Grizzlies

The Memphis Grizzlies' skeleton crew has created fantasy beasts as of late, with Santi Aldama reaping the benefits of a larger role. Aldama is contributing 14.5 points with 3.3 3-pointers, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists over his last four games. His 39 fantasy points against the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday were his most since Dec. 1.

UTIL: Vince Williams Jr, Memphis Grizzlies

See Santi Aldama. Vince Williams Jr. has been the Grizzlies' second-leading scorer over the last 11 games, shooting 52.5 percent from the field and 43.6 percent from 3-point range for 16.2 points. This includes 6.4 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.3 steals, proving the 23 year old is anything but one-dimensional.
