NBA Finals 2024 Player Props: Celtics vs. Mavericks Game 3

The Boston Celtics own a 2-0 lead over the Dallas Mavericks in the 2024 NBA Finals, and with Game 3 shifting the series to the American Airlines Center, we've got even more player prop bets for basketball fans to consider for Wednesday's pivotal action.

Here's a look at some of the more prominent player props to place your bets on as the Celtics look to leave the Mavericks in the dust and move within one victory of the Larry O'Brien trophy.

Kyrie Irving Player Prop Today: UNDER 23.5 Points (-122)

It feels cruel to pile on Kyrie Irving at this point, but taking the UNDER on his point props has paid off so far, and Game 2 didn't inspire much confidence that he's all of a sudden going to flip the switch against Boston even with the Finals moving back to the Lone Star State.

The eight-time All-Star still has yet to knock down a triple through two games on eight total attempts, and he's barely shooting over 35 percent from the field. I had previously bet on Irving to average less than 23.8 points per game for the series as part of the Mavericks' series player props, and considering he's only contributing 14 with poor percentages, barring some sort of unforeseen outburst, that prop will likely connect at -125.

It's been said to death, but Derrick White and Jrue Holiday - both members of the league's All-Defensive Second team - have negated Irving's offense and are winning the mental battle as well, as he's missing several clean looks that were usually freebies.

Irving has gone UNDER 23.5 points in six of his last seven outings versus the Celtics dating back to December of 2022. Even the greats have their kryptonite, and Irving's dons the colors of his former team. It's going to be another rough night at the office on Wednesday by all indicators.

Luka Doncic Player Prop Today: UNDER 51.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists (-108)

There's money in the banana stand, and there's money in Luka Doncic scoring props for anyone who took the original +800 odds of him dropping at least 30 points in every game of the Finals. So far, so good on that front, as he's reached that mark in Games 1 and 2 and looks primed to keep that hot streak going.

Doncic's scoring prop numbers continue to rise by oddsmakers, though, so to provide some wiggle room with his box scores, we're taking a combination prop of points, rebounds, and assists that's demonstrating a noteworthy trend to ride the UNDER.

Yes, Doncic hit the OVER with a line of 32 points, 11 rebounds, and 11 assists for a total of 54 in Game 2, but something to be aware of is that he hasn't registered consecutive OVERs on 51.5 the entire postseason. Perhaps the 25-year-old superstar was inspired to bounce back after finishing with a career-low of a single dime in a playoff game in the series opener.

Regardless, a lot is being asked of Doncic with none of his teammates rising to the occasion, and it looks like he's being held together by tape and sheer willpower with the number of injuries he's dealing with. It's a big number to hit, essentially implying that another triple-double is in order. Doncic hasn't strung together back-to-back triple-doubles since the second round against the Oklahoma City Thunder, as well.

Jrue Holiday Player Prop Today: 2+ Made Threes (-180)

Jrue Holiday may be the NBA Finals MVP. Through two games he's knocked down 45% of three-pointers while averaging 19 points and 9.5 rebounds a night.

He's played some absolutely stellar defense on both Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, and is a huge reason this Celtics team has become a juggernaut this season. Volume plus opportunity equals value. Boston hoists more threes than almost any team in NBA history. Jrue's taken at least four three-pointers in each NBA Finals game and is a great bet to knock down at least two long balls on Wednesday night.

Jaylen Brown Player Prop Today: UNDER 29.5 Points + Rebounds (-115)

The Eastern Conference Finals MVP has played some stellar basketball this postseason. However, his lines are now so juiced its tough to find value on betting Jaylen Brown's overs.

While he's averaged 21.5 points and 5 rebounds a night on a sparkling 55% from the field in these NBA Finals, Brown's surpassed this line just once in his past four games. Add in the fact that the Mavericks defense will have to improve for Dallas to have any hope of avoiding a 3-0 hole in this series, and I love betting on Jaylen Brown's unders.

Without Kristaps Porzingis on the floor, Dallas' bigs can stay home more often and protect the paint. While it's doubtful they shut down the Cal graduate completely, I think Dallas does just enough to slow him down on Wednesday night.
