Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Early bettors pounced on the Sportsbook line of Alabama -14 to move the line three whole points up to Alabama -17. The OVER was also a popular early bet since the total opened at 72 points, moving it up to 74.5 points. The OVER is 8-4 in Florida’s last 12 games.

Alabama News & Notes

The Crimson Tide train rolled right through Arkansas last Saturday with a 52-3 victory. Najee Harris, Brian Robinson Jr. and Jase McClellan combined to rush for 195 yards and six touchdowns while Mac Jones went 24-for-29 for 208 yards in the dominant performance. With the victory, Alabama improved to 10-0 SU on the season and to 7-0 ATS over its last seven games.

Alabama’s closest game came on October 17 against the Georgia Bulldogs when the Crimson Tide won by “only” 17 points. Since then, they’ve outscored opponents 301-50, winning those six games by an average of 41.8 points. With Jones enjoying a breakout season, an elite running game and an elite defense, there just don’t appear to be any holes in Nick Saban’s group in 2020.

Florida News & Notes

Florida lost control of its own destiny with a 37-34 loss to the LSU Tigers on Saturday. The game ended in bizarre fashion as Gators cornerback Marco Wilson was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct late in the fourth quarter for throwing an opponent’s shoe on a third-down play, allowing LSU to extend the drive and to eventually kick the game-winning field goal.

But the game shouldn’t have even been that close to begin with – the Tigers were 3-5 SU and 4-4 ATS going into that game and Florida was a 23-point favorite.

Kyle Trask finished the game with 474 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. While the defense deserves more blame for the loss than Trask does, it was a bad time for the senior quarterback to have his worst game of the season. The two touchdown passes were a season low and the two interceptions were a season high for Trask.

Betting Pick: Alabama -17

Both of these teams possess elite starting quarterbacks and offenses. But only one has an outstanding defense to go along with it. Even if Trask has a strong day, Florida’s shaky defense isn’t going to have any answers for this Crimson Tide attack.
