Notre Dame's Fighting Irish, after getting blown out in the BCS national championship game last January, begin their run at another BCS berth when they host the Temple Owls Saturday afternoon in South Bend (3:30 pm ET).

The Irish, who are without QB Everett Golson because of an academic suspension, were favored by 30 points over the Owls, who went 4-7 playing in the Big East last year.
