Stetson Bennett and the Bulldogs are huge favorites in Georgia-Georgia Tech betting odds Saturday afternoon.

Bulldogs Massive Chalk In Rivalry Game At Georgia Tech

Two teams headed in opposite directions square off Saturday as Georgia (11-0 SU, 7-4 ATS) visits Georgia Tech (3-8, 4-7). Georgia dismantled FCS opponent Charleston Southern as expected in Week 12 while Georgia Tech was walloped by Notre Dame. Huge spreads can sometimes be difficult to cover in rivalry games, but it is hard to see this line as anything but a gift considering the form and mindset of the two squads.

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Georgia, the No. 1-ranked team in the country, has a historically good defense. The Bulldogs destroyed the Jackets 52-7 in their last meeting and after Notre Dame shut out Georgia Tech 55-0 last week, it seems likely Georgia could cover this spread in the first half. Taking care of the total without much help from Georgia Tech is also not out of the question for the Bulldogs.

Georgia News & Notes

After finishing its SEC slate unbeaten, Georgia is on the verge of finishing the regular season allowing less than 10 points per game, a huge accomplishment in today’s high-scoring environment.

The Bulldogs are allowing an average of 7.5 points per game, a mark only one other team (Alabama in 2011) has attained since 2010.

In the midst of a truly dominant season, the Bulldogs could conceivably lower that minuscule points allowed per game average if they play up to their usual standards this weekend.

Georgia Tech News & Notes

The Yellow Jackets started the season 3-3, appearing to have a solid chance to go bowling, but then proceeded to lose five straight games.

The biggest problem recently for Georgia Tech in its defense, which has now given up 30 or more points in four of the last five games after holding opponents below 30 in five of the first six games.

The Yellow Jackets have not won a game this season when allowing more than 27 points.

How Georgia Will Cover

This is the most simple question of the week. If the Bulldogs play like they have all season long, they should be able to cover this number. The only real question is if Georgia puts in its backups early. Even then, Georgia should cover this with ease.

How Georgia Tech Will Cover

This is David vs Goliath, and even that might be lowballing it. Georgia Tech will need to refrain from turnovers, control the clock and stay out of third-and-long situations. If they are unable to get big gains on the first two downs, Georgia will be able to feast on this offensive unit that struggled last week.
