That is the case this week as it was reported that Vanderbilt football head coach Derek Mason announced that his team needs a place-kicker this week and that Vanderbilt’s women soccer goaltender Sarah Fuller is being considered as an option.

There has never been a female player participate in any Power 5 football game in NCAA history. Katie Hnida was the last female to play on a Division I-A team, kicking for New Mexico in 2002 and 2003.
