The Georgia Bulldogs (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) are 6-0 SU over their last six home games and 3-1 ATS over their last four. The Bulldogs will try to earn another win and cover at home on Saturday night when they take on the South Carolina Gamecocks (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS).
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Bulldogs have remained steady as 30.5-point favorites in this SEC East matchup. The total for Saturday night’s game also hasn’t changed since Sportsbook at 48.5 points. South Carolina is 1-5 SU and 2-4 ATS in its last six games against Georgia.
South Carolina News & Notes
South Carolina’s offense got off to a disastrous start last Saturday on the road against the East Carolina Pirates. The Gamecocks’ first five drives ended in an interception, two punts and two fumbles to allow East Carolina to take an early 14-0 lead. South Carolina rallied to tie the score at 14-14 and eventually went on to kick a game-winning field goal as time expired to pick up a 20-17 road win.
The Gamecocks have looked good on defense so far this season with a shutout in their season-Sportsbook game against the Eastern Illinois Panthers and a solid effort in spite of the team’s poor offense in last Saturday’s win. This defensive unit will be put to the test against a top-tier opponent this weekend in Georgia.
Georgia News & Notes
With starting quarterback JT Daniels sidelined with an oblique injury, the Bulldogs had no trouble dispatching the UAB Blazers 56-7 in a blowout win at home. Senior quarterback Stetson Bennett shined in the win as he completed 10 of 12 pass attempts for 288 yards and five touchdowns. Head coach Kirby Smart says that Daniels will return to the starting role as soon as he is ready, but there clearly won’t be any reason to rush him back after Bennett’s performance.
UAB’s only touchdown of the game came on an interception returned for a touchdown thrown by freshman quarterback Carson Beck. Georgia’s defense has allowed a total of three points in two games against the Clemson Tigers and UAB and has scored a touchdown in each of those games as well.
Staff Betting Pick: UNDER 48.5 points
South Carolina’s offense looked lost for the majority of the team’s game against East Carolina. How will this unit fare against Georgia’s defense? This is going to be a long day for the Gamecocks, but instead of taking the Bulldogs as the huge chalk favorites, we’ll take the UNDER and trust South Carolina’s defense to keep this score from getting too far out of hand.
