The No. 4 Oklahoma Sooners (8-0 SU, 3-5 ATS) are 9-0 SU and 6-3 ATS in their last nine games against the Texas Tech Red Raiders (5-3, 4-3-1). The Sooners will try to earn their 10th straight win over the Red Raiders on Saturday night in Oklahoma.
Sportsbook Odds Analysis
The Sooners opened as 19-point favorites and have been bet up to Oklahoma -20. The total opened at 68.5 points and has since moved down to 67.5 points. Oklahoma is 8-4 ATS in its last 12 games vs Big 12 teams.
Texas Tech News & Notes
The Red Raiders took an early 14-0 lead over the Kansas State Wildcats last Saturday and went into the half leading 24-10. Texas Tech failed to score another point and the Wildcats scored 15 to snap their eight-game conference losing streak with a 25-24 win.
Henry Colombi went 10-for-17 for 148 yards with no touchdowns and an interception in the loss. Colombi has thrown only one touchdown pass in Texas Tech’s last four games and has thrown three interceptions over that stretch.
The loss at home proved to be the final straw for Texas Tech as the program fired head coach Matt Wells on Monday afternoon. Wells led the Red Raiders to a 13-17 SU and 13-15-2 ATS record in his 30 games on the sideline. Sonny Cumbie will take over as interim head coach against the Sooners.
Oklahoma News & Notes
Squaring off against the lowly Kansas Jayhawks at home, the Sooners were expected to roll to an easy win as 38.5-point favorites. Instead, Oklahoma limped out of the gate and fell into a 10-0 hole before halftime.
The Sooners woke up in the second half and went on to win the game 35-23, but the performance was so lackluster that 7-1 SU Alabama jumped the undefeated Sooners in both the AP Top 25 Poll and the Coaches Poll.
Caleb Williams completed 15 of his 20 pass attempts for 178 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Williams also rushed for 70 yards and a touchdown. The freshman quarterback has an 8-to-1 touchdown-to-interception ratio and has averaged 74.7 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown in his three games since taking over the starting quarterback job from Spencer Rattler.

How Texas Tech Will Cover
It is quite common to see teams respond with a strong effort in the first game after their head coach is fired. And 20 points is a lot of points facing a team that’s 3-5 ATS and routinely keeping games closer than they should be this season.
How Oklahoma Will Cover
Perhaps the dismal start against Kansas serves as a wake-up call that this team needs to start playing all four quarters at some point this season. Oklahoma’s best effort can easily blow out the Red Raiders – we just have to see that effort on Saturday.
