Deebo Samuel Best Trade Fits: Where Will The 49ers WR Go?

San Francisco 49ers GM John Lynch has adamantly denied the possibility of a Deebo Samuel trade. But, frankly, no one believes him.

The star wide receiver has requested a trade, has reportedly refused to engage the Niners in contract extension talks, and wants to start fresh with a new franchise. If the 49ers trade Samuel, he’ll be one of the most coveted skill position players on the market with the production and versatility of an MVP candidate.

The Best Trade Fits For Deebo Samuel

The Case For Staying In San Francisco:

Samuel is the ultimate Swiss Army knife for Kyle Shanahan’s offense. With San Francisco, Samuel is used to the maximum of his ability, flexed into the run game, grabbing end-arounds, and catching deep targets for over 1,400 receiving yards.

Last season, he was a first-team All-Pro, a Pro Bowler, and posted 1,770 yards from scrimmage. He got nearly 30 more targets than any other San Fran receiver and had the third-most rushing attempts on the team (more than third-round running back Trey Sermon). Shanahan built his offense around players like Samuel, and he’s probably best to stay there from a production standpoint.

Broadway Deebo?

If Samuel is going to leave San Francisco and the confines of Shanahan’s offense, what better than to move to one of his proteges. New York Jets offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur began his NFL coaching career as an intern under then-Browns OC Shanahan. LaFleur followed the coach to Atlanta and San Francisco, and is now installing a similar offense in New York.

With Elijah Moore and an injury-riddled Corey Davis representing the only real passing options for sophomore QB Zach Wilson, the Jets could use a stable and versatile weapon like Samuel. They’re clearly willing to pay up for the big WR, just missing out on now-Dolphin Tyreek Hill.

Kansas City’s New Weapon:

Speaking of Tyreek Hill, Samuel would be a pretty good replacement for the now-departed Kansas City burner. Despite signing Marquez Valdes-Scantling and JuJu Smith-Schuster, the Chiefs could really use a No. 1 receiver to pair with Travis Kelce.

Andy Reid runs a similarly creative offense to the one Samuel has thrived under in San Francisco, and the Chiefs now have the draft picks to potentially swing a deal. In return from Miami for Hill, the Chiefs got five draft picks, including a first- and a second-rounder, that they could easily flip to the 49ers.

How To Bet On Deebo Samuel Trade Odds

Betting on Deebo Samuel trade NFL odds is just like betting on any other NFL prop bet. Use one of our recommended sportsbooks from our best NFL betting sites and then go ahead and place your wager with confidence. Samuel trade odds will look something like this:

  • San Francisco 49ers -200
  • New York Jets +180
  • Kansas City Chiefs +2500

In this example, there are -200 odds (a heavy favorite) that Samuel will not be traded, and will stay with his current team, the 49ers. At these -200 odds, you must bet $200 in order to profit $100 on a winning bet. If you bet that 49ers receiver will be shipped to the Jets at +180, a $100 bet would pay out a $180 profit if you’re right.
