NFL Week 16 Sunday Games News & Notes

Three of the four teams in the AFC North remain alive in the hunt for playoff berths heading into Sunday action for Week 16 of the NFL season, and they'll continue to battle for first place in the division with just two weeks left on the schedule.

The Cincinnati Bengals, who don't return to the gridiron until Monday night at home against the Denver Broncos, hold a slim edge in the AFC North standings at 9-4-1 SU, with the Pittsburgh Steelers and Baltimore Ravens both at 9-5 SU. The Cleveland Browns, at 7-7 SU, were eliminated from playoff contention with the San Diego Chargers' win on Saturday night.

The Ravens are sitting as 5-point road favorites against the Houston Texans for Sunday afternoon, with the Steelers listed as 2.5-point home favorites against the Kansas City Chiefs. Baltimore is 7-1 SU and 5-3 ATS in its last eight meetings with Houston according to the Week 16 NFL betting trends, while Pittsburgh is 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS in its last three meetings with Kansas City.

There are also two head-to-head division showdowns on tap for Sunday, including the primetime game between the Seattle Seahawks and the Arizona Cardinals at University of Phoenix Stadium. The hobbling Cardinals are down to their third-string quarterback, which helps explain why they're 9-point home underdogs against the Seahawks despite their division-leading 11-3 SU record. Seattle sits at 10-4 SU.

Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints are pegged as 7-point home favorites against the Atlanta Falcons for Sunday afternoon as they jockey for position atop the NFC South standings. New Orleans enters Week 16 in first place in the division at 6-8 SU, with Atlanta at 5-9 SU, and Carolina sandwiched between them at 5-8-1 SU. The Panthers are 4-point home favorites for Sunday against the Browns.
