Expert Picks Tonight: Blues Playoff Push Sees Them Cover vs Blackhawks

We've got three games on the NHL schedule today for our expert picks. All three are on the West Coast. So stay up late to follow along.

My three NHL expert picks tonight range from the moneyline, puckline and totals.

NHL Expert Picks Tonight: April 10, 2024

Blackhawks vs Blues
The Game: Chicago Blackhawks vs St. Louis Blues, 8 PM ET

Blackhawks vs Blues
TeamsPucklineTotalMoneyline
Chicago Blackhawks+1.5 (-125)O6 (+105)+200
St. Louis Blues-1.5 (+105)U6 (-125)-245

Pick: Blues -1.5 (+105)

On the road, the Hawks are...well...horrendous with a 7-31SU record. In their last 10 games, their opponents have covered a -1.5 puckline six times. The Hawks covered four times, specifically with three wins against some really poor opponents like the Coyotes, Sharks and Flyers.

The Blues are playing for their playoff lives. They are desperate for the two points. Desperation breeds results and specifically production.

Golden Knights vs Oilers
The Game: Vegas Golden Knights vs Edmonton Oilers, 8:30 PM ET

Golden Knights vs Oilers
TeamsPucklineTotalMoneyline
Vegas Golden Knights+1.5 (-238)O6 (-120)+100
Edmonton Oilers-1.5 (+195)U6 (+100)-120

Pick: Oilers ML (-120)

Edmonton has lost once in their last 10 home games. Their overall home record is 26-11SU. Meanwhile, Vegas has struggled on the road with a 9-14SU record in their last 25 road games.

The Oilers have been cleaning up at home and not just against the bad teams in the league. They've taken out Colorado, LA and the Jets lately. That's three of the top 6 sides in the West. With all due respect to Vegas, they aren't one of those teams. So I'm confident Edmonton gets a win tonight.

Coyotes vs Canucks
The Game: Arizona Coyotes vs Vancouver Canucks, 10:30 PM ET

Coyotes vs Canucks
TeamsPucklineTotalMoneyline
Arizona Coyotes+1.5 (-125)O6.5 (+105)+205
Vancouver Canucks-1.5 (+105)U6.5 (-125)-250

Pick: UNDER 6 (-125)

Since 2020, these sides have met eight times. Vancouver has won seven of those meetings by the way. But at -250 there isn't much value there.

The UNDER, however, holds a lot of value at -125. In those eight meetings since 2020, the total is 4-3-1 vs the UNDER. Narrow in on the last five meetings and the total is 4-1 vs the UNDER. In two games this year, the score has finished 2-1.

Again, Vancouver has historically controlled this tie and based on their current form against the total where the total is 6-3-1 vs the UNDER.
