Dallas Stars-1.5 (+190)U6 (-108)-130

Josie's Take: The Oilers are a glutton for punishment, losing seven of their last eight Game 1s in the playoffs. Four of those losses came from the visitor's bench as Edmonton heads to American Airlines Center tonight.

Favored in our Stanley Cup exact matchup odds, the Stars have aligned to be a more composed group this postseason. I mean, eliminating the two recent champions deserves a pat on the back.

It took the Oilers a full seven-game series to get rid of the Canucks. No matter how decent Arturs Silovs (2.91 GAA, .898SV%) was between the pipes, the 23-year-old was still a third-stringer who should've been no match for the Holy trio of Hyman, McDavid and Draisaitl.

Seeing Edmonton have a brief stint of alternating between Skinner and Pickard leaves an uneasy feeling, too. Jake Oettinger (2.09GAA, .918SV%), the Conn Smythe favorite, will outperform Skinner (.881SV%) in this goaltending showdown. For me, that'll be a huge difference-maker.

Pick: Stars ML (-130)

Michel's Take: I'm siding with the OVER in this contest. In three matchups between the Oilers and the Stars this regular season, the OVER has hit twice (67%). We also know that Edmonton is pretty good against the OVER in the playoffs with a 7-4-1 record (58%).

You might point to Jake Oettinger's stats in the playoffs, but his career stats against the Oilers aren't great at a 0.905SV% and 2.68GAA. From an Oilers side, Skinner ain't much better with a career 0.894SV% and 3.03GAA.

We've got two poor goalies and two offenses that ranked third (Dallas with 294 goals) and fourth (Edmonton with 292 goals).

Yeah, I'm taking the OVER.

Pick: OVER 6.0 Goals (-112)
