EPL Picks Week 22. Liverpool starts farewell process for Jurgen Klopp

EPL Picks Week 22: Liverpool Begin Farewell Tour For Klopp

Week 22 in the English Premier League is going to feel a bit strange with the entire slate of games taking place in midweek. But we've got you set with three picks for this week's matches.

Specifically, we've got something for that massive Liverpool vs Chelsea date on Wednesday.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle United - OVER 2.5 (-200)
The Game: Aston Villa vs Newcastle United, Jan 30, 3:15 PM ET

When Villa is at home the total has gone OVER 2.5 goals 80% of the time. Most of that is of their own doing. Of the 37 goals scored at Villa Park in the league this season, the Villans have scored 32 (87%).

And what we know about Newcastle right now is they bleed goals. Over the Magpies' last three games, they've conceded 10 goals.

Also, the last three meetings between these two teams have gone OVER 2.5 goals.

Liverpool vs Chelsea - Liverpool ML (-155)
The Game: Liverpool vs Chelsea, January 31, 3:15 PM ET

On Friday, Jurgen Klopp announced that he would step down at the end of the season. He's been the beating heart of this Liverpool squad since he arrived in 2015 and pushed them to domestic and European titles. The news was shocking and honestly saddening.

But there is no better way to acknowledge the Gaffer's impact with a resounding home win as the Reds seek a second EPL title under Klopp.

Chelsea has been poor away from Stamford Bridge of late with a 1-0-4 record in their last five games. The lone win came against Luton. It was a win the Blues didn't deserve. Meanwhile, Liverpool hold an excellent 8-2-0 record at Anfield.

The Kop will be loud for Klopp and the players on the field will make their departing manager proud with all three points against their London rivals.

Wolves vs Manchester United - United ML (+150)
The Game: Wolves vs Manchester United, February 1, 3:15 PM

Wolves are without leading scorer Hwang Hee-chan and his 10 goals. That's pushed Pedro Neto up to the lone forward on the pitch. That's not Neto's best position. He's best on the flank and setting up teammates. That throws the Wolves' balance way off.

For United, they're likely to get a host of first-team players back. It seems like Luke Shaw and Harry Maguire could be back from injury. Not to mention Marcus Rashford and Jonny Evans could be fit following illness.

I get United has been garbage away from Old Trafford, but with an unbalanced Wolves squad - that has frankly overachieved - this seems like the perfect game for the Red Devils to turn their away record around.
