Weili vs Lemos Odds & Pick: Big Stage For Magnum At UFC 292

We've got a heater in Beantown on August 19 as UFC 292 features two closely contested title fights.

The headliner will be Sean O'Malley vs Aljamain Sterling for the bantamweight strap. Before that, though, Zhang Weili will defend her strawweight belt against heavy hitter Amanda Lemos.

Weili is a -330 favorite vs Lemos.

Weili vs Lemos Betting Preview

These two lovely ladies can hit harder than anyone else at 115 pounds. Let's map out who goes down.

How Weili Wins

Lemos is an aggressive, accurate striker, but Weili is just as ferocious and even more well-rounded. The Brazilian might be able to out-box "Magnum" but even the striking exchanges will be hot and heavy.

Weili's grappling is a big X-factor in this fight. If she's in trouble, the takedown is an option. Although Lemos owns an excellent 80% defense rate, she might be not match for Weili off her back. The 33-year-old utterly outclassed Carla Esparza, a noted grappler, at UFC 281 to win the belt. Now it's time to rinse and repeat.

How Lemos Wins

It's hard to extract much from Weili's lone KO loss (Rose Namajunas headkick at UFC 261), but there's value in Lemos coming out firing.

The 36-year-old is dangerous when she burns hot, pumping that jab and lining up big hooks to the chin. But as the bout carries on, and if Weili introduces some grappling, Lemos could fade. She's tired in bouts before, and that's a sharp disadvantage against a machine like Weili.

Zhang Weili vs Amanda Lemos Betting Pick

Weili is the better fighter. In a five-round format, I'll take her to win inside the distance, as Lemos frequently induces violence in the cage.

I'll wait for lines on props to come out until deciding on total rounds bets.

Pick: Weili inside the distance (TBD)
