Jon Jones will finally step into the Octagon on Saturday, September 22 to defend his UFC Light Heavyweight title at UFC 152 in Toronto.
However, he won’t be defending it against Dan Henderson as originally planned. Instead, he faces former UFC Light heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort, and as expected Jones is a massive favorite to defend his title and record his fifth straight victory over a former UFC Light Heavyweight champion.
Jones is currently handicapped as a -800 favorite at Sportsbook, while a Belfort upset will pay +550 at Sportsbook. Jones is superior to Belfort in every aspect of MMA and should have an easy day at the office at UFC 152.
He should wear down his opponent for a couple of rounds and score either a third-round TKO or a submission victory.
The first UFC Flyweight champion in history will be crowned at UFC 152 when Demetrious Johnson meets Joseph Benavidez. The two have made it to the finals of the Flyweight tournament to battle for the strap, and it’s Benavidez who is currently handicapped as the -300 favorite at Sportsbook.
Johnson is a crafty fighter who gives every opponent a tough time and has a real chance to upset Benavidez and take the title home. With a payday of +250 at Sportsbook, Johnson may be worth the risk at UFC 152. If he’s able to beat his opponent to the punch, he will have a good chance at a decision win.
The other fight with action currently available on the UFC 152 card is the Middleweight bout between Brian Stann and Michael Bisping. This is handicapped close with Bisping currently a slight favorite at -175 at Sportsbook.
Both fighters are elite strikers but its Bisping’s experience that makes Stann the Sportsbook +155 underdog.
