Los Angeles Clippers Vs. Toronto Raptors
The Game: Los Angeles Clippers vs. Toronto Raptors, 7:30 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Los Angeles Clippers | -8 (-106) | -320 | O 235.5 (-112) |
Toronto Raptors | +8 (-114) | +260 | U 235.5 (-108) |
Pick: Clippers ATS -8
The Los Angeles Clippers have emerged victorious in 11 of their last 13 games, while the Toronto Raptors have just a single win over their last eight outings.
It's not about simply wins and losses with the spread, though, as Toronto just needs to cover as the eight-point underdogs. Unfortunately, pulling that off has proven to be quite difficult as of late, as the Raptors have covered only once in their last six games while the Clippers are 4-1 ATS in their last five.
Toronto will also be shorthanded as Immanuel Quickley (scored 25 against the Clippers on Jan. 10) had been ruled out with a thigh bruise and Jakob Poeltl continues to sit with an injured ankle. Los Angeles is cruising and could pull away early in this matchup.
Oklahoma City Thunder Vs. New Orleans Pelicans
The Game: Oklahoma City Thunder vs. New Orleans Pelicans, 8 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Oklahoma City Thunder | +2 (-112) | +104 | O 240.5 (-110) |
New Orleans Pelicans | -2 (-108) | -122 | U 240.5 (-110) |
Pick: Oklahoma City Thunder ML
From simply a pure basketball perspective, any game between the Oklahoma City Thunder and New Orleans Pelicans and their young cores is money for those watching. But we want to put actual dollars into our pockets, so that's while we'll be siding with a Thunder team in the midst of a four-game winning streak.
New Orleans took the first meeting on Nov. 1 with a narrow 110-106 victory, which probably plays into Oklahoma City being a rare underdog, even in minimal fashion.
That's too enticing a proposition to pass up on. Being on the road at the Smoothie King Center could be a hindrance, but three of those aforementioned Thunder wins have been away from the Paycom Center.
Dallas Mavericks Vs. Atlanta Hawks
The Game: Dallas Mavericks vs. Atlanta Hawks, 7 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Dallas Mavericks | -2.5 (-108) | -136 | O 245 (-110) |
Atlanta Hawks | +2.5 (-112) | +116 | U 245 (-110) |
Pick: UNDER 245 Total Points
This game will hopefully be a layup in transition for the OVER/UNDER market to get back over .500 with our picks.
Oddsmakers setting the total at 245 points is steep for two teams that have gone UNDER at a consistent-enough rate in recent memory. The total has gone UNDER in four of the Dallas Mavericks' last five games and seven of the Atlanta Hawks' last eight.
Dallas has also exceeded 110 points just once in its last four games, while the Hawks have scored 112 or more points only once since Jan. 12. The total hit at least 252 points in both encounters last season, but circumstances change and the rosters are different.
Trae Young is listed as questionable after being in the NBA's concussion protocol, and his presence should he suit up could impact this selection. Either way, the total remains lofty and UNDER is the safer play.
