Minnesota Timberwolves Vs. Cleveland Cavaliers
The Game: Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Cleveland Cavaliers, 7:30 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Minnesota Timberwolves | +1 (-108) | -106 | O 207.5 (-110) |
Cleveland Cavaliers | -1 (-112) | -112 | U 207.5 (-110) |
Pick: Minnesota Timberwolves ML
The Minnesota Timberwolves sans an injured Karl-Anthony Towns picked up a huge win over the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, and now get the Cleveland Cavaliers on the second night of a back-to-back slate.
Cleveland is missing Donovan Mitchell (knee), Evan Mobley (ankle), and Max Strus (knee), hindering an offensive attack which now goes up against the Association's top-ranked defense albeit without Towns in the frontcourt.
With oddsmakers having the spread and moneyline as tight as it is, let's roll with the side coming off a win that's not missing nearly as many integral parts as the other. Minnesota is also 7-2 on no rest, boosting confidence even further in this bet.
Miami Heat Vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
The Game: Miami Heat vs. Oklahoma City Thunder, 8 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Miami Heat | +8.5 (-110) | +275 | O 224 (-110) |
Oklahoma City Thunder | -8.5 (-110) | -340 | U 224 (-110) |
Pick: Miami Heat ATS +8.5
Did we learn our lesson after wagering on the Miami Heat to cover the spread on Thursday against the Dallas Mavericks, which they failed to do by a single point? Apparently not.
Looking closer at each of Miami's last four losses dating back to Feb. 4, the Heat covered Friday's 8.5-point spread every time with an average margin of defeat of six points.
The Oklahoma City Thunder prevailed on Jan. 10 against the Heat by eight points, 128-120, but needed 17-0 and 13-0 runs to secure the win. They've covered the spread just once in their last nine games played in March, and are 1-6 SU against Miami dating back to March of 2019. Oklahoma City is rightfully favored to win, but fingers crossed the 8.5-point spread isn't insurmountable for the visitors.
New Orleans Pelicans Vs. Philadelphia 76ers
The Game: New Orleans Pelicans vs. Philadelphia 76ers, 7 p.m. ET
Team | Spread | Money | Total |
---|---|---|---|
New Orleans Pelicans | -9 (-108) | -355 | O 221.5 (-110) |
Philadelphia 76ers | +9 (-112) | +285 | U 221.5 (-110) |
Pick: OVER 221.5 Total Points
The Philadelphia 76ers are averaging just 108 points over their last two games since Tyrese Maxey was diagnosed with a mild concussion. Even with Maxey available prior, Philadelphia was still hitting the UNDER in six of its last nine games heading into Friday's matchup against the New Orleans Pelicans.
Only three other teams are averaging more points per game than the Pelicans over their last three outings. This includes a 139-98 mugging of the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday.
A total of 221.5 points estimates each team scoring at least 110 points to get to the OVER, which is doable even for a Sixers roster missing Maxey based off of their recent output.
