The Hurricanes appear to be on their way to a much stronger season in 2020 with a 3-0 SU and ATS start that includes blowout wins over the UAB Blazers and Florida State Seminoles at home and a 47-34 road win over the Louisville Cardinals as 2.5-point favorites.
Former Houston Cougars standout quarterback D’Eriq King is off to an excellent start in Miami after joining the team as a graduate transfer this offseason. King is 63-for-94 with 736 passing yards, six touchdowns and zero interceptions to go along with 157 rushing yards and a rushing major through his first three starts. He’ll get his toughest test of the season on Saturday in Clemson.

Clemson improved to 3-0 SU on the season with its 41-23 win over the Virginia Cavaliers on Saturday but once again failed to cover the spread as a big favorite, going off at -28 in that one. The Tigers are 0-3 ATS despite owning an average margin of victory of 30.3 points per game.
Clemson backers will be happy to have a smaller spread to cover this week as the Tigers are 17-0 SU and 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games as a favorite of three touchdowns or less.
Trevor Lawrence has completed 73.3 percent of his passes so far this season for 848 passing yards and seven passing touchdowns with no interceptions. He enters Saturday’s game as the betting favorite to win the Heisman Trophy in 2020, and outdueling another Heisman contender in King would only elevate his chances to take home the prize.

It’s tough to pick against the Tigers, but this Miami team now has an elite quarterback on offense to go along with its excellent defense. Clemson will almost certainly win outright, but on paper this has the look of a competitive football game, so 15 points is more than enough to take a shot on the Hurricanes with.
