Sportsbook Odds Analysis

Los Angeles opened as a 1-point favorite in this game, but a terrible performance against New England likely helped push bettors toward the Falcons as the line quickly moved to Atlanta -2.5. Bettors taking the OVER have moved the Sportsbook line of 48.5 points up to 49.5 points. The OVER is 7-2 in Los Angeles’s last nine games.

Atlanta News & Notes

The Falcons looked fantastic in a 43-6 upset win over the Las Vegas Raiders as 3.5-point underdogs. But that nice victory was sandwiched between a pair of underwhelming losses to the New Orleans Saints, who beat Atlanta 24-9 in Week 11 and 21-16 in Week 13. Despite those two losses, Atlanta is still 4-3 SU and ATS since Sportsbook the season with a 0-5 SU and 1-4 ATS slump.

Atlanta’s defense has been considerably better since the firing of Dan Quinn. The Falcons were torched for 421 yards and 32.2 points per game through their first five games.

Since then, the defense has allowed only 375.4 yards and 20.1 points per game. Sitting on a 4-8 SU and 5-7 ATS record with another year of Matt Ryan’s prime wasted, it’s clear the Falcons’ coaching change came too late.

Los Angeles News & Notes

The Chargers defense has been consistently bad all season long. The only thing that has kept the team competitive has been the excellent play of rookie quarterback Justin Herbert.

Unfortunately for Los Angeles, Herbert has looked like a rookie in his last two games, throwing only one touchdown pass and being intercepted three times while completing just 54.3 percent of his passes. The results were a 27-17 loss to the Buffalo Bills and a 45-0 loss to the New England Patriots on Sunday.

That loss to New England was the most lopsided in franchise history for the Chargers. Los Angeles is now 3-9 SU and 4-7-1 ATS and a dismal 1-5 SU and 0-6 ATS over its last six games. The Chargers close out the season with three straight division rivalry games after Sunday’s contest.

Betting Pick: Atlanta -2.5

The Chargers should come out with a strong effort on Sunday after getting so thoroughly humiliated at home last weekend. But getting only 2.5 points against a Falcons team that has been playing pretty well, the play has to be on Atlanta here.
