Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Ravens opened as 1-point favorites in this matchup, but betting action on the Browns has shifted the line to Cleveland -2.5. The total has also seen major movement down to 42 points since Sportsbook at 45 points. The UNDER is 7-3 in the last 10 meetings between Baltimore and Cleveland.

Baltimore News & Notes

Baltimore fell out of the top seed in the AFC on Sunday after losing to the Pittsburgh Steelers 20-19 as a 4-point road favorite. The Ravens also suffered yet another key injury as star cornerback Marlon Humphrey was lost for the season with a shoulder injury. Humphrey’s strong play this season has helped lift an already injury-hampered secondary that has been without Marcus Peters all season.

Sunday’s game continued a disturbing trend of lackluster offense from Baltimore as well. The Ravens are 2-2 SU and ATS over their last four games and have scored only 15.3 points per game over that stretch.

Lamar Jackson has averaged 218.7 passing yards per game over his last three starts and has thrown three touchdowns and six interceptions in those games.

Cleveland News & Notes

Cleveland entered its bye week on the heels of a 16-10 loss to the Ravens on November 28. Like the Ravens, the Browns have been struggling badly on offense of late, averaging only 10 points per game over their current 1-2 SU and 0-3 ATS slump.

The team’s points per game numbers are a bit skewed by some random outbursts of offense (42 points in Week 5 and 41 points in Week 9), but the Browns have scored 17 points or less in seven of their last nine games.

It’s fair to wonder if Baker Mayfield is the long-term answer in Cleveland. Mayfield has averaged a dismal 202 passing yards in his last three starts with three touchdowns and three interceptions. With a dominant running game to take the pressure off him, the former first overall pick should be doing a lot more in his fourth NFL season.

How Baltimore Will Cover

Baltimore picked up a win and cover in a 16-10 defensive showdown in its last game against Cleveland just two weeks prior to this one. With both teams struggling on offense, there should be value in the points the Ravens are getting in this matchup as a tight low-scoring game seems quite likely.

How Cleveland Will Cover

While the Ravens were battling it out with a division rival on Sunday, the Browns had a bye week to rest and prepare for this game. If that extra preparation time and Baltimore’s loss of Marlon Humphrey result in an uptick of offense, Cleveland’s defense should be able to take care of the rest.
