Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The game opened with Seattle (2-0 SU, 2-0 ATS) as the favorite at -2.5 but that line has moved to -4.5 pretty much across the board. The total opened at 49.5 but has already moved up to either 55.5 or 56 depending where you look.

Dallas News & Notes

The Dallas Cowboys have not had any trouble scoring this season. Loaded from top to bottom, the Cowboys boast maybe the best trio of receivers in the league in Amari Cooper, Michael Gallup and rookie CeeDee Lamb, as well as all-world running back Ezekiel Elliott. Dak Prescott has already passed for 716 yards through two games, third in the league, and the party should not stop in Week 3.

The problem for Dallas has been its defense. The Cowboys were shredded by Matt Ryan and the Falcons in Week 2, giving up 39 points in the process and narrowly escaping with an improbable win on a last-second onside kick recovery and a subsequent field goal.

Now, the Cowboys go on the road to Seattle to face early MVP favorite Russell Wilson. Dallas will need more from its defense in this one.

Seattle News & Notes

Wilson has been almost flawless in two weeks. He sports an absurd 82.5 percent completion rate as he has missed on just 11 of 63 pass attempts. He also leads the league with nine touchdowns and it has become clear notoriously conservative head coach Pete Carroll is finally taking off the reins and “letting Russ cook.”

Receivers D.K. Metcalf and Tyler Lockett could both be in for big days against the Cowboys’ Swiss-cheese defense.

On defense, the Seahawks will need to clean some things up, particularly through the air as they have the 28th-ranked pass defense by DVOA (efficiency) according to Football Outsiders.

Betting Pick: Seattle -4.5

At -2.5 this would have been a no-brainer. At -4.5 it is a little trickier and if the line keeps rising, bettors may be able to find some value in taking the Cowboys. However, Russell Wilson has been nothing short of brilliant through two games and now gets arguably his easiest matchup at home. It’s hard not to see him putting up another monster performance.
