Watson Texans

Watson is Hot, but Texans are not in Prime-Time Games

How many teams are kicking themselves for not taking Deshaun Watson in the draft? Basically, any team that doesn’t have an established QB, as the rookie has set the league on fire the past two weeks and looks like the next big star in the NFL. Superstardom aside, his team has been an absolute joke in prime-time games, posting an absurd 3-21-1 ATS record in their last 25 games at night.

Shark Bites
  • Deshaun Watson has thrown for six TDs and run for 1 in his last two games.
  • Kansas City ranks No. 1 in the NFL with 1.3 net yards per play.
  • The OVER has hit in seven of Kansas City’s last nine night games.

With the game hovering in the PICK range, the Texans will be in tough to reverse that trend on Sunday night at home vs the NFL’s only undefeated team, the Kansas City Chiefs, who are also a perfect 4-0 ATS. The Chiefs are also money on the road, as they’ve won and covered in eight straight outside of KC, and going back even further, they’re 15-3 SU and ATS in their last 18 games as a road favorite.

The trends certainly favor the Chiefs and they’ll also be the toughest defense Watson has faced yet in his NFL career. They’re allowing 19.2 points per game with 11 sacks and six forced fumbles. This is a major step up in competition for the Texans offense, coming off games against two of the worst defenses in the NFL, the Patriots and Titans, who are both allowing over 31 points per game.

With a total of 47 points, bettors will be interested to know that the Chiefs have topped that mark in three of their four games this season while the Texans have easily surpassed that number in their last two games.
