Sportsbook Odds Analysis

The Bengals opened as 1.5-point home favorites and have since been bet up to Cincinnati -3. The total has also seen significant movement up to 50.5 points after Sportsbook at 48 points. The UNDER is 6-0 in Los Angeles’s last six games against Cincinnati.

Los Angeles News & Notes

Justin Herbert went 28-for-44 with 303 passing yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions in Los Angeles’s 28-13 loss to the Denver Broncos last Sunday. Herbert’s final stat line was helped along quite a bit by a nine-play drive in garbage time in which he collected 62 yards and a touchdown pass when the game was already out of reach.

Los Angeles fell to 2-4 SU and 1-5 ATS over it last six games with the loss after starting the season with a 4-1 SU and ATS record.

The Chargers are asking Herbert to do too much with their poor play on defense. Los Angeles has allowed 31.3 points per game over its last seven games, and the team ranks dead last in the NFL in rushing defense, yielding 145.3 rushing yards per game.

Cincinnati News & Notes

Fresh off a 32-13 blowout win as 2-point favorites over the Las Vegas Raiders, Cincinnati followed up by thrashing the Pittsburgh Steelers 41-10 as 3.5-point favorites. Joe Mixon torched the Steelers for 165 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 28 carries while Joe Burrow finished the day going 20-for-24 for 190 passing yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Daily fantasy sports players around the nation will be building their rosters around Mixon this weekend. The Bengals back has rushed for two touchdowns in each of Cincinnati’s last three games and has gone over 120 yards in each of his last two.

Mixon will likely have a field day against Los Angeles’s terrible rushing defense, and if Cincinnati jumps out to another big lead, things could really get out of hand.

How Los Angeles Will Cover

Prior to the ugly loss to the Broncos, each of Los Angeles’s previous four games had been decided by a touchdown or less. Chargers backers should consider pairing their play with the OVER as Los Angeles’s only path to a win or cover here would be for Herbert to outshoot the Bengals offense.

How Cincinnati Will Cover

Cincinnati ranks sixth in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing 20.5 points per game, but there have been some blemishes along the way. Winning and covering in a shootout is possible, though the path to a cover gets a whole lot easier if the Bengals stay hot on defense.
