Miami Dolphins at New York Giants Betting Preview

Dolphins Are Eli Manning’s Best Shot at One More Win with the Giants

The New York Giants are 0-9 SU and 3-6 ATS over their last nine games. After suffering a heartbreaking road loss on Monday night to the Philadelphia Eagles, the Giants will try to snap their long losing streak at home against the Miami Dolphins.

Sportsbook Odds Analysis

While the game line has not moved from its opener of New York going off as a 3.5-point home favorite, the total has moved down a point and a half from 48 to 46.5 points. The Giants are just 1-7 ATS in their last eight games at home.

Miami News & Notes

The Miami Dolphins looked like a virtual lock to go 0-16 in 2019 after a month of September in which the team went 0-4 SU and ATS, losing by a staggering average of 34.3 points per game. But instead of continuing to be a punching bag all season long, the Dolphins have rallied to go 7-2 ATS over their last nine games, and have even earned three outright upsets with wins over the New York Jets, Indianapolis Colts and Philadelphia Eagles.

As he did during his previous stints with the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Ryan Fitzpatrick just seems to give his team a puncher’s chance at an upset on a fairly consistent basis. Miami has lost 12 of its last 13 road games but is 4-1 ATS in its last five games away from home.

New York News & Notes

Eli Manning didn’t play like a world-beater on Monday night, but he wasn’t a total slouch, either. The beleaguered 38-year-old returned to the starting role that he lost back in Week 3 and performed admirably, completing 15 of his 30 pass attempts for 203 yards and two touchdowns. It looked as though he was going to lead the Giants to an upset win over the Philadelphia Eagles as they led 17-3 at the half, but New York eventually lost 23-17 in overtime.

With Daniel Jones still nursing an ankle injury, Manning is expected to be back under center again this Sunday. The Giants won in their only other instance as a home favorite this season, defeating the Washington Redskins 24-3 as a 3-point favorite back on September 29.

Betting Pick: Dolphins +3.5

This is a bit of a surprising line given how well the Dolphins have been playing over the last two months. The Giants should be a small favorite, but Miami has a great chance of keeping this one close or even scoring another upset win.
