Luukkonen's Buffalo Sabres featured in our nhl goal in the first ten minutes

Goal In The First 10 Minutes Odds: Columbus Will Struggle With Luukkonen

The NHL has plenty of games and plenty of action for us to indulge in. There's a variety of player and game props to choose from -- including whether a goal will be scored in the opening 10 minutes.

NHL Prop #1 - Buffalo Sabres vs Columbus Blue Jackets

NHL Prop #2 - Winnipeg Jets vs Chicago Blackhawks

NHL Prop #3 - Minnesota Wild vs Edmonton Oilers

NHL goal in the first 10 minutes Odds & Picks: february 23

Of the NHL matchups tonight, here are the ones to bet on for a goal in the first 10 minutes.

buffalo sabres vs columbus blue jackets goal in the first 9m 59s of period - NO (+140)

I'm going against the odds and leaning on the plus-money side. Buffalo's last five meetings have been a perfect pattern of wins and losses, but there's been no trends of early scoring with the Sabres netting just one goal in the opening 10 minutes in those games.

Despite being fresh off an exciting 7-4 victory against Anaheim, Columbus will be forced to meet a different beast with Luukkonen. The Finn is recording a noble .911SV% and has won three of his last five starts, including a whopping 7-0 shutout against the Kings.

Winnipeg jets vs chicago blackhawks goal in the first 9m 59s of period - YES (-135)

There should be no difficulty for Winnipeg to get past a shaky Chicago group, which has lost 10 of its last 11 games. The Jets have scored four goals in the first 10 minutes in their last two performances.

Minnesota wild vs edmonton oilers goal in the first 9m 59s of period - YES (-175)

The Oilers are more than capable of scoring, hitting the OVER in their last five outings. Though it may have been a rare sighting, Minnesota's 10-goal effort a few nights ago proved that it's not bad in the offensive zone either.

However, the Wild don't have any netminders currently recording over a .900SV% and the Oilers are just edging a spot in the postseason. So, filling the net is priority number one.

It's also worth noting that Minnesota has the fourth most penalty minutes in the league (253) and isn't very good at killing them (74.48 PK%). That doesn't matchup well with Edmonton's top four powerplay (26.42 PP%).
