Galaxy huge MLS odds favorites in 2012

So much for 2011 being the Los Angeles Galaxy’s swan song in the MLS.

The team is back after its championship season stronger than ever and oddsmakers at Sportsbook have stacked the odds high against any other Major League Soccer team competing with them.

In addition to retaining David Beckham, LA also brought back Juninho and Leonardo, added Marcelo Sarvas, re-signed Sean Franklin and got Edson Buddle to return from a year in Germany.

That group, combined with Robbie Keane and Landon Donovan give the Galaxy the most star-studded and dangerous lineup in MLS history.

Small wonder they are roughly 15/8 odds to repeat (meaning 8 wagered returns an $15 profit, roughly 2/1 odds).

The Seattle Sounders are next at Sportsbook at 5/1, followed by Real Salt Lake at 7/1.

Sporting Kansas City and FC Dallas are next in the betting pecking order at 8/1.

And Canadian soccer fans who love betting on their teams have only longshots to pull for in 2012. Canada’s three teams are the longest shots on the board.

Montreal Impact and Vancouver Whitecaps are both 66/1 odds while Toronto FC is 40/1.
