Europa League Odds: Eintracht Frankfurt Favored To Win

Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt heads into the 2021-22 Europa League final as the favorite but they’ll be facing a side in Rangers that doesn’t know when it’s beaten.

According to Sportsbook’s Europa League title odds, Eintracht Frankfurt (-150) has a considerable edge over Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s Rangers (+120).

You can see soccer odds along with other betting markets at Sportsbook:

Before the first leg of the semifinal, RB Leipzig had Europa League title odds of +120 and West Ham had odds of +200. Frankfurt at the time had odds of +500 with Rangers having +600.

This just goes to show how impressive the two sides have been in the competition and why they’re fully deserving of playing in the final in Seville next week.

The two sides took many big scalps along the way. Frankfurt got the better of Barcelona and West Ham United, while Rangers bested Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig. They’ve both proved that they can come out strong against the greatest of odds.

Europa League Title Odds: Betting Favorites

Eintracht Frankfurt (-150)

They’ve been clinical throughout their run while having their share of luck in between, but Frankfurt fully deserves to be in the Europa League final.

They came close in 2019 with arguably a better team that included the likes of Sebastian Haller, Luka Jovic and Ante Rebic but fell just short in the two legs against Maurizio Sarri’s Chelsea.

They don’t have a team as strong this time around but have been extremely difficult to handle on the counterattack and clinical when they get their chances.

They play like a proper cup side. These tactics have been less effective in the league, where the best teams tend to impose their game on the opposition.

However, this is also the sort of game Rangers like to play and it could be a case of the two sides cancelling each other out with their tactics. The Europa League betting odds didn’t look that dissimilar for RB Leipzig before they faced Rangers either.

Europa League Value Picks

Rangers (+120)

Underestimate them at your own peril. The reigning Scottish champions might not be defending their league title this season but they have been outstanding in the Europa League despite their Europa League title odds throughout the knockouts.

Before the second leg, their odds of winning the competition were at +1100 but it was clear from the first leg that the tie against RB Leipzig was far from over.

RB Leipzig was frustrated for long periods in the first leg between the two sides and only came out on top after Angelino scored a screamer in the dying seconds. Rangers were stubborn and got a few counterattacks of their own going with Ryan Kent coming close.

The second leg was a very different matter. They left Leipzig giddy at Ibrox, scoring two goals within 24 minutes and seeing the game out after scoring the third in the 80th minute despite Christopher Nkunku’s best efforts.

The most impressive aspect of Rangers’ play in this game was that they didn’t look out of control.

It seemed like they were the favorites as soon as the first goal went in. There was penetration, steel and tenacity to their game that Domenico Tedesco’s side could not handle and Frankfurt will not underestimate them. They know exactly what being the underdog in a fight feels like.

Europa League Betting Strategy

The narrative is in favor of Rangers at the moment but there was a narrative in favor of West Ham – with David Moyes’ redemption at the heart of it – not too long ago as well. There was one for Xavi and his resurgent Barcelona side too.

There’ll be talk prior to the game of Rangers’ European Cup Winners’ Cup final triumph but Frankfurt has cancelled out all the noise and just gone about their business.

Frankfurt has their own glorious history, coming up short against Real Madrid’s team of the century in the 1960 European Cup final before winning the 1979-80 UEFA Cup final.

They’ll be well aware that Rangers have knocked two German sides out of the competition but Dortmund and RB Leipzig’s prerogative to dominate the game played into the Scottish side’s hands.

Frankfurt doesn’t care about dominating the ball and Rangers don’t either. If the two sides cancel out each other, quality usually wins out. Frankfurt has the greater quality and Rangers won’t have the manic support at Ibrox to latch onto this time around.

There’s a lot to profit from by betting on Rangers. If they are victorious, it’ll maybe take someone on the bench to make the difference. Despite all that, the Europa League title odds are firmly in Eintracht Frankfurt’s favor and for good reason.
