How To Bet Smith
I'm surprised Smith is the underdog. Spann, a bruising puncher, carries far more upside than Lionheart, but he's wickedly inconsistent. "Superman" has shown spurts of superstar ability and then immediately followed it up with some doofus act of grappling or a mind-numbing loss.
Smith is a constant. He's no longer elite and he never was terribly explosive, but he's steady and hard to put away. Bet him straight up as a good underdog play.
How to bet Spann
I would steer clear of betting Spann straight up. Instead, I'd go with him to win inside the distance. The 31-year-old is known for his punching power, but he also possessing a devlish guillotine.
Also of note, Spann's last six fights have all ended in Round 1. If you're keen on Spann, it's wise to bet him to win in Round 1.
