As potent defensively as Minnesota is, like all 28 other teams across the Association, the solution of how to contain Jokic from putting up monster numbers has yet to be determined. The 33.3 points he averaged against the Timberwolves were the second-most he mustered up against any one team, right behind the 33.5 points against the San Antonio Spurs.

Minnesota Timberwolves Player To Watch: Mike Conley

Mike Conley must have circled Nuggets games on the schedule, because the 36-year-old veteran point guard consistently stepped up to the plate for this particular matchup. He averaged no more than 15 points against any other team, but managed to shoot the lights out against Denver to the tune of 18 points per game, including a 23-point outburst on March 29 which was his second-most points in a game all season.

As the team with the best overall record SU, the Boston Celtics lead all teams in the pecking order here, but the Nuggets aren't too far behind. The Timberwolves opened at +6500 to hoist the Larry O'Brien trophy, so this is a vast improvement.

Expert Prediction: Denver Nuggets (-205), Denver Nuggets Win Series 4-3

It's taking a great deal of restraint to not take the Timberwolves here, especially after witnessing them shred the Kevin Durant-Devin Booker-Bradley Beal threesome to tiny bits in a series that was never really close.

Is it a stretch to think the winner of this series will ultimately win it all? Both rosters are well-equipped to do so, and on paper, each side has the weapons to make life miserable for the other. Minnesota's size in the middle with Defensive Player of the Year favorite Rudy Gobert to go along with Karl-Anthony Towns and then Naz Reid off the bench is as formidable a three-man unit as it gets to impede Jokic's progress, yet the Joker has abused this matchup time and time again.

Can Jamal Murray's calf hold up? He was listed as questionable for Game 5 against the Lakers, and ended up nailing the game-winning jumper to finish with 32 points, so it's safe to assume he'll be okay moving forward, but it's still something to monitor.

Having home-court advantage is huge for Denver, because if this series does in fact reach a Game 7, winning in the Mile High City with the altitude paired with a roaring pro-Nuggets crowd is easier said than done. That should be the difference, as Denver will get pushed harder here than it ever did during last year's run to the title.
