Anytime Goalscorer Picks Tonight: Capitals Trend Of Ending Skids Against Pens

The NHL has plenty of player and game props to bet on including an anytime goalscorer pick. Which is pretty self-explanatory. Every Tuesday and Thursday, with the help of our betting reports, I will choose a few players who I think will find the back of the net.

NHL Prop #1 - Filip Forsberg vs St. Louis Blues (+105)

NHL Prop #2 - Trevor Moore vs San Jose Sharks (+210)

NHL Prop #3 - Alex Ovechkin vs Pittsburgh Penguins (+135)

NHL anytime goalscorer odds & picks: april 4

Whether it's continuing a goal streak or getting back on the scoresheet, here's who I have scoring a goal in the NHL matchups tonight.

filip forsberg anytime goalscorer vs st. louis blues (+105)

A three game skid and going goalless in his last two isn't preventing me from taking a Forsberg, tonight. The Blues can't figure out left-wingers, allowing them a league-high 6.9 shots per game.

Nashville's three-game drought at the time it matters most probably wasn't written in the game plan.

A week ago, catching up to Winnipeg to snag a divisional playoff spot wasn't out of the question. Well, that's becoming farther from reality now with the Preds crawling six-points behind.

March was Forsberg's lucky month after stringing together 23-points, the highest-monthly mark of his career. Surely all that work end in falling apart just as the playoffs are rounding the corner? Right, Filip? Right!?

trevor moore anytime goalscorer vs san jose sharks (+210)

Before his hattrick last night, Trevor Moore has managed just five goals in the last two months. But, with San Jose notoriously struggling against left wingers and the 29-year-old's track record against the Sharks this season -- I'm more than willing to sprinkle some cash on this inflated line.

San Jose just lets in goals from anywhere, sitting in the top five in goals per game against every position. But, they've allowed a whopping 293 goals to left wingers, that's nearly 20 more than the second-most.

Moore capitalizes on that, scoring both games he's faced the Sharks this season.

The forward is quietly about to eclipse his first 30-goal season. An accomplishment that should be easy to achieve tonight.

alex ovechkin anytime goalscorer vs pittsburgh penguins (+135)

The Caps return to Capital One Arena tonight with three consecutive losses joining them.

Since 2021, if Washington meets Pittsburgh while riding a losing-streak, it has ended the skid each time on three separate occasions. Two of those outings were this season. The Caps are 10-3 during their meetings with the Pens while on or at risk of starting a losing streak.

Over the recent trio of streak-ending games, Ovechkin scored in each. Perhaps its the motivation of the good ol' Ovi vs Sid debate. Regardless, the trend speaks for itself.
