Expert Picks Tonight: Lightning Vs Habs Is A Recipe For The OVER

In tonight's NHL expert picks, I've found some credible moneyline, puckline and total bets for the slate of games.

penguins vs capitals
The Game: pittsburgh penguins vs washington capitals, 7 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Pittsburgh Penguins-1.5 (-215)O6 (-108)-115
Washington Capitals+1.5 (+265)U6 (-112)-105

Pick: Capitals ML (-105)

If you've already jumped on my anytime goalscorer picks tonight, then you'd know why I'm all over Washington.

In their last 13, the Capitals are 10-3 when coming off a loss and meeting the Penguins. To favor my pick even more, Washington has snapped three consecutive losing streaks against Pittsburgh over the last two seasons.

Now, Ovi and his group are hoping to end another three-game skid at Capital One Arena tonight. Sorry Sid, I know you've been the centre of attention. But, this trend is too good to pass up.

lightning vs canadiens
The Game: tampa bay lightning vs montreal canadiens, 7 pM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
Tampa Bay Lightning-1.5 (+142)O6.5 (-102)-170
Montreal Canadiens+1.5 (-170)U6.5 (-118)+142

Pick: O6.5 (-102)

In their last 10, the Habs having a 4-6 O/U record at the Bell Centre while hosting the Atlantic. But, the OVER has hit in three straight meetings with the Lightning this season.

Each time the line was set at 6.5 goals. Montreal has snuck a trio of goals past Tampa Bay in each of the three meetings.

It's not a tough battle to score on one of the Canadiens' young, developing goalies. For Tampa Bay, it's been routine. In seven of their last eight meetings with the Habs, the Lightning have struck at least four goals.

kings vs sharks
The Game: los angeles kings vs san jose sharks, 10:30 PM ET

TeamPucklineTotalMoneyline
LA Kings-1.5 (-125)O6 (+102)-310
San Jose Sharks+1.5 (+105)U6 (-122)-250

Pick: Kings -1.5 (-125)

I'm more than comfortable relying on the Kings' puckline tonight. The profit on the moneyline isn't worthy of my time but tagging in the -1.5 at -125 odds is not too shabby.

The odds are barely misplaced for LA, where it's 7-2-2 as favorities when playing within the Pacific division. In five of their last six wins, LA has led by two or more goals.

Not that it's a surprise at this point, but San Jose is 1-9SU in its last 10 at the SAP Centre. Of those 10, eight have been complete blowouts of losing by two goals or more.
