NHL goal in the first 10 minutes Odds & Picks: March 13

Of the NHL matchups tonight, here is how to bet on for a goal in the first 10 minutes for them.

washington capitals vs edmonton oilers goal in the first 9m 59s of period - YES (-165)

According to our goal in the first 10 minutes betting report, Edmonton (35) has netted the third-most goals by the halfway mark of the first period. The Oilers have been fiery out of the tunnel in their last two meetings, getting on the board within the first minute-and-a-half or less.

Meanwhile, Washington kicked off its road trip with a 3-0 defeat to Winnipeg, giving Connor Hellebuyck his fourth shutout of the year.

It's easy to rely on a fast-paced start with Edmonton, which has earned the league's sixth-highest 2,112 shots this season.

The Canucks are always flying in the first period, sniping 42 goals (ranked first) and conceding just 20 (ranked second).

In its last meeting, Vancouver hushed Winnipeg by pocketing three goals in the first period. It took J.T. Miller, who is tagged alongside Auston Matthews league-most nine goals in the opening 10 minutes, just over two minutes to edge the Jets' sturdy defense (2.39 GPG).

But, we don't just have to rely on the Canucks to cash this for us. Colorado obviously tops the standings by posting 3.74 GPG, too.

nashville predators vs winnipeg jets goal in the first 9m 59s of period - NO (+110)

Winnipeg is sitting pretty in the Western Conference with 87-points. It must be comfortable knowing six-foot-four Hellebuyck is protecting your net and the league's best defense is guarding your zone, too.

As I just mentioned, the Jets have allowed the lowest 16 goals in the opening 10. But, they're also tied with San Jose with the fewest scored (17). Winnipeg has found the back of the net early in its last seven outings.
