Michel's Take: Every series has a theme. This one seems to be the UNDER. In both games of the Eastern Conference, the UNDER has hit and by a healthy margin. We had three goals in both Games 1 and 2, well under the six needed to hit the OVER.
The total has gone UNDER in Florida's last five games. It's clear that they've found their defensive swagger that saw the total go UNDER in 56 games this year (60%).
Now the series heads to Florida where the Cats are 27-18-2 (57%) against the UNDER this season.
Looking at the underlying numbers will say the OVER should have hit in both games with 6.08xG in Game 1 and 5.93 in Game 2. But with Bobrovksy (0.962SV% & 0.90GAA) and Shesterkin (0.943SV% & 1.37GAA) playing like the Vezina-caliber goalies they are, we're going to see them stop a few any other goalie would have let in. So with the total teetering on the edge of a knife, these goalies push it towards the UNDER.
