Our Top NFL Season Player Props: Sacks

Khalil Mack Sacks: UNDER 10.5 (-120)

Despite not missing a game in 2019 or 2020, new L.A. Charger Khalil Mack did not hit 10 sacks in either year. That was before he had just six sacks in an injury-shortened season last year in Chicago.

A former third overall pick, Mack has had a great career that includes four seasons of 10-plus sacks, three All-Pro selections and lots of dominant play, but he is now 31 and on his third NFL team.

He should still be an effective player for the Chargers, but his days of hitting 10-plus sacks may be over, and another injury (more likely at his age) would all but ensure this NFL player sacks prop hits the UNDER.

Nick Bosa Sacks: OVER 11.5 (-125)

While Mack may be on the downside of his career, young Nick Bosa is trending upward.

Bosa had nine sacks in his rookie season, missed almost his entire second year with a knee injury and returned last year to post 15.5 sacks in a dominant Pro Bowl campaign.

One of the best three or five rushers in the league, he feels like a lock to hit 12 sacks if he stays healthy like last year.

I’m smashing the OVER at 11.5 here at Sportsbook with Bosa’s number in the 13-14 sack range at other books.

Micah Parsons Sacks: OVER 11.5 (-115)

Speaking of players trending in the right direction, Cowboys star Micah Parsons was an unstoppable force last season as a rookie.

With 13 sacks and 30 QB hits, Parsons was an All-Pro and ran away with Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Just 23 years old, he is still an ascending talent, and 11.5 sacks feels more like a floor than a ceiling. It’s tough for sportsbooks to put these sack totals too high, and injuries can quickly derail a prop like this, but we’re confident that a healthy Parsons hits 12-plus sacks.

Maxx Crosby Sacks: OVER 9.5 (-115)

While Crosby has had more than 9.5 sacks just once in three seasons (and it was his rookie year), his ability to pressure the QB improved drastically last season despite his relatively low sack total of eight.

Crosby was tied for fourth in the league with 30 QB hits behind only T.J. Watt, Myles Garrett and Nick Bosa, showing that getting to the QB is not a problem for him.

Sack totals can be a bit random as sometimes a player gets a sack despite a teammate doing most of the work. I’m confident that Crosby’s sack numbers will climb to a number more in line with what a player getting lots of pressures should have.
